FAQ's

Q. This sounds exciting, I have not had recess in years. I'm a bit nervous, what should I expect?

A: Kind of like the first day of school, it can be an adjustment. Recess Calgary is about you participating at your own pace. Remember it's a break so don't put too much pressure on yourself. Getting used to the idea of playing takes some time, so let loose and bring out your inner child!A

Q. I like to know the rules before I break them?

A: You rebel! First, there's not many, you're an adult now, remember? For the best experience listen to the instruction before every game or activity. Don't be a spoil sport by holding the fun back for everyone else. For some of us recess was not always the highlight of our growing up years due to forms of harassment like sexism, homophobia, racism and ableism. None of these behaviours and alike will be tolerated. Recess Calgary is all about smart play which means listen to your body, your peers and respecting the space. Crystal?

Q. What's the max amount of people that can play?

A: Each class will have about 10-14 participants. This is the best size for everyone to play well together and get to know each other.

Q. Who is the Teacher?

A: Tyson! You can drop the 'mister' or 'coach', he's less teacher and more of a friendly guide. Recess Calgary is just an opportunity to bring people together and have some fun. Tyson would love for you and your friends to come out.

Q. What do I need to bring?

A: A friendly attitude, a pair of clean indoor sneakers and a bottle of water. Don't forget to bring a signed waiver (no need to plagiarize your parents signature - this time).

Q. Shoot, I'm double booked I don't think I can make it. What should I do?

A: See! This is why you need Recess Calgary, you're too busy. If you really can't make it, you can get a refund with more than 24 hours notice. Or you can be a solid friend and get someone to take your place. It's like a sub but way less work.
